Monday Night Football Preview

Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles (Spread: Philadelphia -7.5)

The Eagles look to be rising back from the dead, and have put together a few nice wins thanks to some amazing offensive play and solid defensive play.  I definitely like the sack-happy Eagles to beat the Bears, but the spread seems a little iffy against the Bears’ RB Matt Forté.  All in all, I’ll take the Eagles in Philly.  Fantasy Tip: Start Bears RB Forté, Eagles QB Vick, RB McCoy, WRs Maclin and Jackson, Eagles defense, and TE Celek as a sleeper.  Pick: Eagles to win and cover.

Sunday Previews

Atlanta Falcons at Indianapolis Colts (Spread: Atlanta -6.5)

The Colts haven’t shown any signs of life recently, so this one is pretty much a no-brainer.  Falcons WR Julio Jones is back, and should provided an added boost to a good Falcons team.  Fantasy Tip: Start Colts RB Addai, WRs Wayne and Garcon, TE Clark, Falcons QB Ryan, RB Turner, WRs White and Jones, TE Gonzalez, and Falcons defense.  Pick: Falcons to win and cover.

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills (Spread: Buffalo -2.5)

This should be a field goal game – both teams are similar, but the deciding factor of the game will be Bills RB Fred Jackson versus the Jets rushing defense.  Also, I think the Bills are too overrated of a team, and too many people have them labeled as contenders when they barely have a solid defense.  We’ll see that in this game.  Fantasy Tip: Start Jets QB Sanchez, RB Greene, WR Holmes, TE Keller, Bills RB Jackson, and leave WR Johnson on the bench (he’s facing Darrelle Revis this week.)  Pick: Jets to win and cover.

Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys (Spread: Dallas -10.5)

The Seahawks have been miserable lately, and the Cowboys are basically a sure win here.  With a hot RB in DeMarco Murray, the Cowboys should blow this one out.  Fantasy Tip: Start Cowboys QB Romo, RB Murray, WRs Austin, Bryant, Robinson, TE Witten, and Cowboys defense.  Pick: Cowboys to win and cover.

Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans (Spread: Houston -10.5)

This one is a closer matchup than it looks like, because the Texans look to have a tough matchup without RB Andre Johnson against the Browns defense and CB Joe Haden.  I like the Texans to win this one, and I don’t know if they have enough offensively to cover, but the Browns definitely don’t have enough offensively to cover.  Fantasy Tip: Start Texans QB Schaub, RB Foster, TE Daniels, Texans defense, and Browns RB Hardesty as a sleeper.  Pick: Texans to win and cover.

Miami Dolphins at Kansas City Chiefs (Spread: Kansas City -3.5)

The Dolphins have been absolutely atrocious this year.  However, the Chiefs have found a way to start playing a solid game without RB Charles or FS Berry, especially on defense, so I like the Chiefs to edge the Dolphins here.  Fantasy Tip: Start Chiefs RB Battle, WR Bowe, Chiefs defense, Dolphins RBs Thomas and Bush, and WR Marshall.  Pick: Chiefs to win and cover.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints (Spread: New Orleans -8.5)

In what was a tough divisional matchup last time, the Bucs edged the Saints in Tampa.  Even with the Saints coming off a horrible win, I like them to do well, since they’re in the Superdome, but the spread is very close to how much I think the Saints should win by.  Did you know the Bucs are 6-5 versus the Saints since 2006?  Fantasy Tip: Start Saints QB Brees, RB Sproles, WRs Colston and Moore, TE Graham, Bucs QB Freeman, RB Blount, and WR Williams.  Pick: Saints to win and cover.

San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins (Spread: San Francisco -3.5)

The 49ers have just gone absolutely nuts this season, and are not only 6-1, but 6-0-1 against the spread, and are now facing a team without its starting QB, RB, or WR.  I really like the 49ers here.  Fantasy Tip: Start 49ers RB Gore, WR Crabtree, TE Davis, 49ers defense, Redskins TE Davis.  Pick: 49ers to win and cover.

Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans (Spread: Tennessee -1.5)

The Bengals have one of the best defenses in the NFL, one of the best WRs in the NFL, and a solid coach and system, yet are somehow underdogs here.  Remember that the Titans are playing with the worst rushing game in the NFL this year, and are without their #1 WR Kenny Britt.  I just don’t see how the Titans will outscore the Bengals here.  Fantasy Tip: Start Titans WR Washington, Bengals RB Benson, WR Green, TE Gresham, and Bengals defense.  I would leave Titans RB Chris Johnson on the bench for now, and pick up Ringer in case he breaks out later.  Pick: Bengals to win and cover.

Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders (Spread: Oakland -7.5)

The Raiders have Carson Palmer…you decide if that’s a good or bad thing.  The only thing I know, is that RB McFadden is out, and I don’t see the Raiders being able to cover by that much.  In fact, I think Tim Tebow might actually win this one and redeem his reputation a little bit.  Fantasy Tip: Start Broncos QB Tebow, RB Moreno, WR Decker, Raiders RB Bush, and WR Heyward-Bey.  Pick: Broncos to win and cover.

St. Louis Rams at Arizona Cardinals (Spread: Arizona -2.5)

After a huge win versus the Saints, the Rams have a ton of momentum, and have finally gotten it together on defense.  It looks like the Cardinals defense could be in for a long day, and with QB Kevin Kolb out, I don’t see the Cardinals having the means to do anything.  Fantasy Tip: Start Rams RB Jackson, WR Lloyd, Cardinals RB Wells, WR Fitzgerald.  Pick: Rams to win and cover.

Green Bay Packers at San Diego Chargers (Spread: Green Bay -5.5)

Every Chargers RB is either questionable or out, and QB Philip Rivers has been dreadful this year.  I don’t see any reason to pick the Chargers at all.  Fantasy Tip: Start Packers QB Rodgers, RB Starks, WRs Jennings, Nelson, Jones, TE Finley, Chargers QB Rivers, RB Mathews (only if healthy), WR Jackson, and TE Gates.  Pick: Packers to win and cover.

New York Giants at New England Patriots (Spread: New England -9.0)

There have been a ton of reports about Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw recently – some saying he could miss a game, the whole season, or he’s fine.  But all I know is, with an injured Bradshaw, the Giants offense won’t be able to put up enough point to outscore the Patriots.  Fantasy Tip: Start Patriots QB Brady, WRs Welker and Branch, TEs Gronkowski and Hernandez, Giants QB Manning, RB Jacobs (if Bradshaw is out, which he probably will be) WRs Manningham, Cruz, and Nicks (only if active).  Pick: Patriots to win and cover.

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers (Spread: Pittsburgh -2.5)

This one seems like a great matchup, but the Ravens have been playing horribly offensively and the Steelers have been tearing it up offensively.  This one seems like a great bet for the Steelers to win, especially in Heinz Field.  Fantasy Tip: Start Ravens RB Rice, WR Boldin, Steelers QB Roethlisberger, RB Mendenhall, WR Wallace, and Steelers defense.  Pick: Steelers to win and cover.
