Mike Cammalleri pulled from game; traded to Calgary Flames

Chalk this up in the category of things I’ve never seen before.

Disgruntled Montreal Canadians forward Mike Cammalleri was pulled mid-way through the 3rd period in the teams game against the Boston Bruins and told to return to the the teams hotel.

It was later reported by Toronto’s The Fan590 that Cammalleri was told he was traded.

Sportsnet’s Louis Jean, the beat writer for the Canadians, confirmed via twitter Cammalleri along with the rights to goalie Karri Ramo and a 5th round picks were traded to Calgary.

Montreal receives forward Rene Bourque, prospect Patrick Holland and a 2nd round pick in 2013 back from Calgary.

Cammalleri has been under hot water recently after comments made Wednesday on his teammates attitude.

“We prepare for our games like losers. We play like losers. So it’s no wonder why we lose,” Cammalleri said when asked about the teams play.
